SBR: styrene-butadiene
Commercial names: Buna Hüls (Chem. Werke Hüls), Buna S (Buna-Werk), Phioflex (Goodyear), Phiolite (Goodyear).
Styrene-butadiene rubber presents many variations of behaviour according to the loads that are added to the compound prior to the vulcanisation process. The most widely used variant in seal applications, it consents contact with glycol-based fluids, with a fairly stable behaviour for temperature intervals falling between 100°C and –50°C.
